Core Meetings
Core Meetings usually comprise of:
- a Guest Speaker, who will speak for around an hour on a subject of interest
- a break for tea/coffee and biscuits - the perfect time to meet, and socialise with, other members
- any announcements and a round-up of the upcoming activities across all of the interest groups
The speakers cover a very wide variety of interesting subjects. Some recent examples are:
- HS2 and the community
- Wallis Simpson
- Travels in New Zealand
- Those darn tin huts! (prefabs)
- Brueton - but not the park!
- Fabian Society
Average attendance at Core Meetings is around 70-80 (two thirds of our membership), so it's a great way of getting to know people.
